We've been following each other for a very long time. Over 6 years. You're the first blog I checked to see what you have to say on this whole 'shutting down the adult content' issue. I am so sad to say goodbye to both my porn blog and the community I've met and connected with throughout the years. Do you have any idea what will happen to our blogs after this is implemented? Do we just "disappear" :(
It is a shame but Tumblr has been dying ever since Yahoo took over and started clamping down on anything adult related. First they hid adult blogs from search engines regardless of whether people had the NSFW filter turned off. Now they are under pressure from Apple regarding some fucked up shit a minority post on here, and instead of going after them they’re using it as an excuse to do what they wanted from the very beginning, which is to get rid of any adult content and flood tumblr with ads they can make money from. Most corporate clients won’t advertise on a site that hosts adult content so they want to monetize this site as best they can. They say they won’t close the blogs down but will remove any NSFW content which makes most blogs of our nature redundant. So you can still use the site just no porn, I hope to see Tumblr fall apart after this do hopefully a tech savvy competitor can copy the format. There are some kink alternatives but personally I prefer sites which allow us to express all of out interests rather than just pornography. Wholly sex orientated sites are not as communal as this site. It’s a shame that such a great concept has been driven into the ground by a big corporation but hey welcome to the capitalism.
